What is the price for the venue and what does it include?

Do you have a site fee for wedding ceremonies at your venue?

  • No. The ceremony is included with the site fee.
  • If you do not need a ceremony at The Cowan Mill, you will receive an additional event hour.

Do you have All-Inclusive Options?

  • This is COMING SOON!!
  • We are actively working on our All-Inclusive package to make it perfect for our wonderful couples.
  • At the moment, we are only offering our A La Carte option, but do not worry, we are more than happy to help you through this process!

What is the maximum capacity of your venue?

  • 180 People comfortably! This is our max headcount and would include utilizing our upper patio space for the ceremony,
  • For reception we would use our Main Ballroom (seated 100), our trackside room (seated 40) and our cocktail terrace (seated 40) for dining.

When are the payments due?

Do you offer a payment plan?

  • When signing the contract, we require the 1st of 3 installments to book the venue. 4 months prior to the wedding date the 2nd payment is due.
  • We ask for the final payment after the final walkthrough meeting, which is held about 3 weeks prior to the wedding.
  • You are welcome to send smaller, partial payments of any amount prior to the specified due date. A security deposit is collected, along with the final payment of $1,000 which will be returned after the wedding if there are no damages.

How do I reserve a date?

  • To reserve a date, email us at saying that you are ready to book XYZ date if it is still available.
  • We will contact you to get the booking finalized.
  • The Cowan will hold your date for 7 days while we get the contract finalized.

Do I need to schedule a tour, or can I just stop by?

  • We kindly request that all tours are by appointment only. You can request a tour here HERE!

What is the average budget of a couple getting married at The Cowan Historic Mill?

  • That is a great question! In general, we believe the average budget of a couple getting married at The Cowan is between $19,000-$25,000 for all wedding expenses (venue, fodd, dress, DJ, Photographer, etc.).
  • We have had some creative couples with smaller guest counts host beautiful weddings for lower, and we have had several lovely events here spending significantly more than average.

What form of payment do you require?

  • We recommend cash, check or money order for payment.
  • You can pay via credit card, however there is a 4% processing fee for all credit card payments.

Do we have to use your bar service and preferred caterers?

  • Yes, we do hold a full liquor license, so our bar service is required!
  • We also require our weddings to choose from our preferred catering list.
  • This is to not only protect our space, but mostly to protect the quality of your wedding day. Each of these caterers have been working with The Cowan for years and have shown their excellent work ethic.
  • There is a great range of food options and price points for you to choose from.

What is the starting price for the Bar?

  • $20/Per Person over 21

Which of the following are included in the starting price for bar service?

  • House Beer, House Wine
  • Upgrades to premium and Liquor packages are available!

Will there be another wedding the same day?

  • At The Cowan Historic Mill, we host only one wedding each day.
  • Our primary goal for each couple is to ensure that your event is extra special and receives our fullest attention.

Is there a train schedule?

  • As an industrial space in a local small town, there is a train next to our building.
  • We find this a great part of our venue's experience! However, there is not a train schedule. We do tell everyone, the train has never ruined a wedding day, only made it more of something to talk about!!
  • Also, our train does not honk its horn in Acworth!

How would you describe your venue?

  • Industrial Elegant.
  • The space provides a Ballroom in a historic building with a patio and rooftop.

What kind of settings are available?

  • Indoor, Covered Outdoor

What months are included in your peak season?

  • April, May, June, September, October, November, December

What months are included in your off-peak season?

  • January, February, March, July, August

What are the options for Parking?

  • We have a private lot available along with an additional public parking lot in walking distance.

What transportation and access is available?

  • Parking, Wheelchair Access inside
